Redwater High School FCCLA Student Teams Earn Top Five in Texas; One Student Selected as National Qualifier

Redwater, TX – As part of the Texas Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) State Leadership Conference in Dallas, TX, Redwater High School was represented by 14 student members attending with eight teams competing.  Three teams placed in the Top Five in Texas and one student member was selected to advance to the National Leadership Conference.

 

Top Five in Texas Teams were:

Anna Fryar - Second Place - Focus on Children;

Shania Maugham - Third Place - Serving Up Success;

Makenzie May & Alivia Thompson - Fourth Place - Professional Presentation.

 

Anna Fryar was selected as a National Qualifier and will advance to the National Leadership Conference in July in Denver, CO.

 

The Redwater High School Teacher/Advisor for the FCCLA program is Jessica Davis.

 

FCCLA is a national Career and Technical Student Organization (CTSO) for students in Family and Consumer Sciences (FCS) education in public and private school through grade 12.  FCCLA offers intra-curricular resources and opportunities for students to pursue careers that support families.  Since 1945, FCCLA members have been making a difference in their families, careers, and communities by addressing important personal, work, and societal issues through Family and Consumer Sciences education.
