Posted Date: 04/12/2019

Isabel Turner, 8th grade art student at Redwater Junior High, was recently honored for her outstanding artwork at the Youth Art Month Capitol Celebration in Austin, along with other students from across the state. She was presented with a medal, certificate, art supply swag bag, and photo op with the First Lady of Texas, Cecilia Abbott. Turner's artwork was one of only 120 pieces selected as part of a juried art exhibition to be displayed in the Bob Bullock Texas State History Museum and the Lower Rotunda of the Texas State Capitol Building. Turner, her family, art teacher, and principal attended a reception at the Bullock Museum honoring all of the student artists on March 10, 2019.
