As you know, our Superintendent Mrs. Anne Farris has notified the RISD Board of Trustees of her desire to resign her job as Superintendent effective at the end of June this year. We (all RISD and the Redwater Community) have been so blessed to have this wonderful lady working with us and leading RISD for the last 2 and a half years. What began as just a planned relatively short interim Superintendent responsibility grew into her becoming our permanent Superintendent. There has been great forward progress of RISD through her strong commitment and leadership. We owe much sincere appreciation to Mrs. Anne for her dedicated commitment and leadership to RISD. Of course, we knew from the beginning that her tenure at Redwater would not be a significantly long time period. Now that time is coming to a close. Mrs. Anne will continue pressing on with carrying out her responsibilities as Superintendent. Your Board of Trustees is now beginning the diligent process of finding another high quality individual to become the next RISD Superintendent. Rest assured, we take this responsibility very seriously and will dedicate our very best efforts to this task.
Again, I want to say how appreciative the Board of Trustees is for Mrs. Anne and her commitment to quality and excellence in our district. We also appreciate you (RISD Administrators, Faculty, Staff, and other Support Employees) for your continued commitment to making RISD the great school district that it is today.

RISD Gradebook Viewer for 2009-2010
RISD has an electronic gradebook viewer called txConnect providing parents instant access to information such as course grades, test and assignment scores, and attendance. If you used the gradebook viewer last year and remember your user id and password, you may use it again this year. Parents and guardians of high school and junior high students should have received registration information including a Student Portal ID in the mail. Middle school and elementary school students received registration information to take home to parents and guardians. If you have any questions, contact Linda Lowe or Karen Zink at 903-671-3481.

Optional Flexible Year Program
Redwater ISD will once again participate in the Optional Flexible Year Program. Participation in this program allows us to reduce instructional time for some students while at the same time providing more intense instructional time for other students. Students instructional days for the current school year could be reduced up to a maximum of 4 days.
