Redwater High School Top Ten

Conner Holland is the son of Cassi Johnson and Mark Holland. He is graduating with a 4.0 GPA, has 34 college credit hours and is Redwater High School’s 2024 Valedictorian. Holland is a member of the Redwater Football team, Redwater Basketball Team for four years, where he received the Academic All-District Award, Redwater Baseball Team for four years, and the Redwater Golf Team for the past two years, where he placed 3rd in district. Holland also volunteers to coach little league for the Redwater Youth Sports Association.      Academically, Holland received first place in district and advanced to regionals during his sophomore year in UIL science.  He is a member of the Spanish National Honor Society and Key Club, where he raised money for kids with Leukemia and for the Baptist orphanage at Christmas. In the fall, Holland will attend Texas A&M University at College Station, where he plans to major in engineering.

 

Katelyn Jennings is the daughter of Chad and Martha Jennings. She is graduating with a 4.0 GPA, 27 college credit hours and is Redwater High School’s 2024 Salutatorian.  She is a prominent member of the Redwater Dragon Band. She is a four-year member of the color guard, where she currently serves as the captain, where she led her team to multiple Best Color Guard Awards. She is a six year member of Winter Guard, where she led her team to second place at the NTCA championships. She participated in the junior and senior honor band.     Academically, Jennings is the secretary of the National Honor Society and Spanish National Honor Society. She has also completed her phlebotomy certification through Health Science Practicum. Jennings plans to attend University of Central Arkansas where she has been awarded the Achievement Scholarship and the Schedler’s Honor Program Scholarship, to pursue a degree in nursing. After graduating, Jennings plans to become a nurse anesthetist.

 

Carley Edwards is the daughter of Jason and Deena Edwards. She is graduating with a 3.98 GPA, has 32 college credit hours and is graduating third in her class.  She has been a member of the Redwater Lady Dragons volleyball team for the past four years, during which time she earned honorable mention, an Academic All-District Award, and an Academic All-State Team Award. She also participated in tennis and track her freshman and sophomore years. Academically, Edwards is obtaining her certified clinical medical assistant certification, and she participates in National Honor Society and Key Club, where she volunteers numerous hours for her community and raises money for needy families, orphans, and kids with Leukemia. Edwards is planning to attend Texarkana College to pursue a degree in nursing.

    

Ainslee Kordsmeier is the daughter of Trey and Katie Kordsmeier. She is graduating with a 3.9 GPA, has earned 26 college credit hours. She is graduating fourth in her class from Redwater High School. She  has been a  member of Redwater's cheer team for the past four years, where she serves as co-captain. Throughout her cheer career, she has participated in the state competition, where she and her team have placed in the top ten for the past three years. Kordsmeier is also a member of Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and in 2022, she received the 110% Award for her outstanding dedication and performance. This year, she received the FCA All Star Cheerleader Award. Academically, she serves as treasurer for the senior class and National Honor Society. She is also an active member of Spanish Honor Society, HOSA, where she earned her phlebotomy certification, and Key Club, where she helped raise money with Alex’s Lemonade stand, for kids with Leukemia. She plans to attend UCA in the fall.    

 

Molly Estes is the daughter of Chris and Deeanna Estes. She is graduating with a 3.96 GPA, has earned 29 college credit hours and is graduating fifth in her class from Redwater High School. Estes is the Redwater Daisy Mascot, where she helped the Redwater Cheerleading Team earn 10th at state this year. She is a member of Redwater Lady Dragons volleyball and participated in softball during her freshman year.  Academically, Estes serves as the Vice-President of Student Council, National Honor Society, and Spanish Honor Society. She is also an active member of HOSA, where she earned her phlebotomy and CCMA certifications, Key Club, and serves on the Dragon Cabinet as an advisor to the Redwater Administration for Student Voices. For the past four years, she has participated in Journalism UIL, where she has received medals in News Writing and Editorial Writing as well as regional honors. Estes plans to attend Texas A & M, Texarkana, where she will be pursuing a degree in general studies and will later transfer to Texas State University, San Marcos, where she will study marine biology. She plans to become an aquatic veterinarian.

 

Haidyn Purdy is the daughter of Roger and Ashley Purdy. She is graduating with a 3.89 GPA, and she has earned 26 college credit hours and is graduating sixth in her class from Redwater High School. Purdy is a four-year member of the Redwater High School Band, where she received the Leadership Award her junior year and helped lead the band to receive 6th and 7th place in state competitions over the past four years. Academically, Purdy is a member of National Honor Society, where she serves as president, Spanish National Honor Society, and HOSA, where she has earned her Phlebotomy and CCMA certifications. Purdy is a representative for the senior class. She served as co-president for the junior class. She is a member of the Dragon Cabinet, as an advisor to the Redwater Administration for Student Voices. She is also a member of READY, a faith based student led organization and Key Club, where she volunteers many hours helping her community and raising money for the less fortunate. She received the Academic Excellence scholarship from University of Texas, Tyler, where she plans to major in nursing. Her long term goal is to be a travel NICU nurse.

 

Kaylee Calicott is the daughter of Corey and Sara and the late Shelli Calicott. She is graduating with a 3.98 GPA 22 college credit hours and is seventh in her class. Calicott is a member of the Redwater Golf Team, where she serves as the captain. She was previously a member of the Redwater Volleyball, Basketball, and Softball teams, where she received several Academic All District Awards. In addition to sports, she has served as the Redwater High School Yearbook editor for the past two years and has competed in Journalism UIL, ATPI, TAJE, and JEA, where she earned numerous awards. She is also a member of National Honor Society, Key Club, HOSA, Photography Club, and she has served as class president of the Senior class of 2024 for the last six years. She is active in her church, where she serves in the children’s ministry and technology department. She has over 500 volunteer hours, serving her community. She received the KIWANA’S Sophomore of the Year Scholarship and the Academic Excellence scholarship from University of Texas, Tyler, where she plans to obtain a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and specialize in labor and delivery.

 

Olivia Clark is the daughter of Jason and Dusty Curtis, and William Clark. She is graduating with a 3.82 GPA, has earned 25 college credit hours, and is graduating eighth in her class from Redwater High School. Clark was a member of the Redwater High School band during her freshman and sophomore year. She is currently a member of the Redwater Cross Country Team. Academically, she is a member of National Honor Society and serves as the president of the Spanish Honor Society. Clark has also participated in UIL Cross-Examination Debate and Spelling, where she and her team received the first place spelling award at district competition advancing them to regionals in 2022. Clark will be attending Texas A & M, Texarkana this fall to pursue a major in mechanical engineering. Later, she intends to get her master’s in aerospace engineering and hopes to work for NASA one day.

 

Brookelynn “Lake” Crump is the daughter of Jaylon and Tiffany Crump. She is graduating with a 3.90 GPA, has earned 29 college credit hours and is ninth in her class at Redwater High School.  Crump is a four-year member of the Redwater cheerleading squad, where she presides as co-captain and has earned state recognition placing in the top ten for the past three years and received the 110% award. She was also a member of Redwater’s volleyball team. Crump is an active Redwater Tennis member, where she placed 2nd and 3rd in regional competition. Academically, Crump is a member of Spanish National Honor Society and serves as the historian for the National Honor Society.  Crump received the Eagle Elite Scholarship and plans to attend Texas A & M, Texarkana in the fall, where she will pursue a degree in psychology. Crump plans to eventually become a clinical therapist.

 

Zoe Knighton is the daughter of Kelly and Rochelle Knighton. She is graduating with a 4.0 GPA, 32 college credit hours and is tenth in her class at Redwater High School. Knighton is a three year member of Dragon TV, where she is the chief editor and has earned third and fourth place in the state UIL competition for film and second place at the student television network national competition for a human interest story. She has also received many other honorable mentions and superior awards at TAJE. She also is a member of American Heritage Girls, which is a faith based community outreach program. She also helps teach children at Redwater First Baptist in her spare time. She is also an active member of READY, a faith based student led organization, where she serves at the head of the outreach committee. Academically, she is a member of the Key Club, National Honor Society, Spanish Honor Society, and FCCLA, where she has volunteered over 500 service hours. Knighton received an Academic Scholarship to Northwestern State University, Louisiana, where she plans to attend in the fall and major in broadcast journalism.
